Egypt come into this world cup with high expectations after qualifying for only their 3rd world cup and the first since 1990. The high expectations mostly come from their "Egyptian King" Mo Salah. Salah who scored twice in the deciding qualifying game against Congo became a national hero overnight. The Liverpool winger came out storming in a red shirt and broke the all time premier league goals record in a season with 32 goals and scored 44 goals in all comps. Huge concern for many Egyptians came during the champions league final when Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos took Salah to the ground and forced him to leave the pitch only thirty minutes into the final. This raised questions over his World Cup future but those concerns have seemed to have died down with growing confidence from the Egypt camp that he will be available for the first fixture against Uruguay. There is no doubt that Egypt's fate lies in the health of Salah but they still have some other very capable players that can make a difference in these matches. Like Stoke wonderkid Ramadan Sobhi and experienced Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny. Egypt would've been confident when drawing this group but without Salah making it through will be a completely different story they need him fit or qualification for knockouts looks very unlikely.
