England open up their campaign with a dramatic win over African side Tunisia. The match opened up with England looking dominant as ever. They were creating quality chances every couple of minutes. The first chance fell to Jesse Lingard when he was played in with a beautiful over the top through ball by Jordan Henderson. Lingard controlled it well but failed to find the end product. The chances continued to flow, and England finally got their opener in the eleventh minute. Tunisia conceded a corner, and Ashley Young stood over it. He delivered a special ball right onto the head of John Stones who headed it towards the goal. Unfortunately, keeper Mouez Hassen made a brilliant diving saved but parried it straight to England captain Harry Kane who made no mistake. England continued to put on the pressure but unexpectedly, and against the run of play, Tunisia won a penalty. A cross was floated in towards the head of Ferjani Sassi who was taken down by a cheap and stupid elbow into the head of Sassi. The referee did not hesitate and gave the pen. Sassi stepped up and put it into the bottom left-hand corner right past the fingertips of Jordan Pickford. England continued to pile on the pressure with attack after attack. Lingard hit the post and Henderson had a shot well saved by substitute keeper Mustapha. This ended the half at 1-1. Most people expected that despite the level score England would come out of half-time and finally take their chances. This surprisingly didn't happen. Both teams came out flat, and hardly any chances were created. Both teams had average attacks with some decent crosses and long shots but nothing too notable. Then going into the last ten or so minutes England through the kitchen sink towards the Tunisia goal. They finally got their one chance, and it came from a set piece again. The ball was whipped in and found John Stones again who's header found Kane's head who tapped it in to win England the match. The goal sent the English crazy and continued the theme of late winners in this World Cup. For England, this puts them in a promising position to make it out of the group with Panama up next. For Tunisia, things don't look as bright as they have to take points of Belgium next week.
