Group C Review:
Group C:Final Table:
France 7 pts
Denmark 5 pts
Peru 3 pts
Australia 1 pt
Matchday 3 results: France 0-0 Denmark, Peru 2-0 Australia
In one of the more straightforward groups, France and Denmark qualify comfortably to the knockouts.
Biggest Surprise: Denmark

There was always gonna be a toss up from second place in this group between Denmark and Peru, and Denmark came out on top. Denmark surprised many who picked the Peruvians to go through. Denmark played really well as a team and knew their strength and their weaknesses and used them. They knew they needed to defend as a team but also knew their need to get the ball to attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen. They used certain formulas and came out with quality results in every match. I think people were pleasantly surprised with Denmark at the World Cup.

Biggest Disappointment: Peru
The biggest Disappointment has to be Peru. They came into the World Cup not losing a single game in South American qualifying with high expectations on them. In all their matches they pushed and tried to attack and force the issue. But unfortunately, that was their downfall as tactically superior teams countered them beautifully. It was unfortunate to see such a positive team get eliminated this early but it was their own doing in the end.

Best Player: Christian Eriksen
The best player of this group goes to Denmark's talisman Christian Eriksen. He proved vital in the two key results the Danes had with a key assist for Poulsen's goal against Peru and had a beautiful goal against Australia which opened the match. He was able to successfully transfer his form from Tottenham and proved vital to his team's progression to the knockout stage.
Best Match: Denmark vs. Peru 1-0
Though there were no great matches by any means Denmark and Peru was probably the best. The 1-0 win by Denmark was a tactical masterclass by Age Hareide. He forced Peru to fall right into his hands when Denmark scored from a devastating counter-attack which was lead by Christian Eriksen. It was a fun match to watch with Peru always looking to go forward but ultimately ended up in a Denmark victory.
Best Goal: Eriksen 1-0 vs. Australia
Eriksen's opener against Australia was a brilliant half-volley which paved the way for a draw with the feisty Aussies. It was a peach of a half-volley after Jorgensen's flick back to him sat up perfectly for the volley. He hit it beautifully with his weaker left foot and left Matty Ryan no chance in net.
